Celebrating great things to come at Kala’s soil turning ceremony

Kala’s soil turning ceremony

Last week, SIG Group gathered with key stakeholders and the Core Projects team to celebrate the official start of construction at Kala! This incredibly exciting milestone was marked with a ceremonial soil turning ceremony–the first step in bringing our Pakenham East community to life.

The event was officiated by SIG Group Senior Development Manager, Aaron Hatton, who welcomed the first digger on site.

“Today marks a truly special day for Kala and Pakenham East,” he remarked.

“This ceremony is not just about breaking ground; it’s about laying the foundation for what will become the heart of a new community. We’re excited to see Kala play a central role in shaping the identity of this emerging suburb, creating a place where people can thrive and connect with each other and their surroundings.”

The celebration was complemented by a beautiful spread, and we extend our thanks to Fed by Freda for their exceptional catering, enjoyed by all in attendance.

Looking ahead, earthworks for Stage 1, are set to begin in the coming months, laying the groundwork for future homes, parks and all the great things to come for Kala. With estimated titles for Stage 1 expected in Q3 2025.
